Literary Prospects Episode 57: Book Publicist Leah Paulos

In Episode 57 of Literary Prospects, we talk with book publicist Leah Paulos.

Leah is the founder of Press Shop PR and Book Publicity School. Leah has worked at the intersection of books and media for over 25 years, leading publicity campaigns for hundreds of authors, helping them line up media attention and events, and supporting them as they navigate the (somewhat bizarre) world of publishing. She’s spoken about book publicity at many venues including Columbia School of Journalism and the CUNY Graduate Center. She graduated from Cornell University in 1998, and now lives in Brooklyn with her husband and co-book publicist Andy Davis and their two boys.

In this interview, Leah talks about her latest project: Book Publicity School, what every author should do as early as possible to lay the groundwork for promotion, the connection between publicity and book sales, what works and what doesn’t for authors on social media, and much more.
